Acknowledgements

We gratefully acknowledge those who helped launch Impact100 Philadelphia and continue to make it a success.

2008’s Founding Members took a leap of faith with a brand-new organization.  Their optimism and commitment led to a grant that moved more than 100 homeless adults and children into homes of their own.

The Founding Board of Directors worked passionately to get the organization up and running:  Ellan Bernstein, Mary Broach, Beth Burrell, Beth Dahle, Cheryl Haze, Jacquie Kelly, Anita Lockhart, Wendy Peck, Charlotte Schutzman.

Duane Morris, LLP provided pro bono legal services for the filing of corporate and tax-exempt documents. We are extremely grateful for Duane Morris’s early support as we navigated the path of starting a nonprofit entity. We would especially like to thank partner Lawrence J. Kotler and associate Mehrin Masud-Elias for their invaluable help.

Impact 100 in Cincinnati was the inspiration for our group in Philadelphia. In April 2008, Sue Baggott, a founding member in Cincinnati, took our first phone call and graciously stayed on the line for an hour as we asked one question after another. Sue was a patient and encouraging mentor during our founding year.

Rebecca Powers, of Impact Austin, and Julie Sheppard, of Impact 100 Pensacola Bay Area, have also been a great help in sharing their experiences, giving advice, and encouraging our group in its early stages.  Other Impact groups exist in cities around the country such as Greater Indianapolis, St. Louis, San Antonio, Oklahoma, Owensboro, KY, Sonoma, CA, and Chicago. All Impact groups operate independently.
