On Friday, October 12, more than 12,000 women gathered at the Philadelphia Convention Center for the 2018 PA Conference for Women. The four keynote speakers—tennis star Serena Williams, human rights attorney Amal Clooney, comedienne and disability activist Maysoon Zayid, and mental health and LBGTQ activist Amanda Southworth—spoke about the importance of women supporting women, pushing boundaries, the need for #MeToo to become #Never Again, and maternal health. They each encouraged participants to continue to use our voices to create positive change. Each speech generated palpable energy throughout the Convention Center, and thrilled participants from throughout Pennsylvania.
Impact100 Philadelphia participated as an exhibitor in the Community Pavilion, where we had the opportunity to spread the news about our mission, the power of women’s collective giving, and the impact our work has had on our members and the nonprofit community in the greater Philadelphia region. It was also a wonderful opportunity to network with many nonprofits in the area who wanted to learn more about our philosophy in support of core mission grants.
We were pleased to introduce so many potential members and nonprofit partners to Impact100 Philadelphia and the fastest growing form of philanthropy in our area. We are continuing to promote our organization at public events and information sessions, privately hosted meet ups, networking opportunities, and volunteer events.
