Our Commitment to DEI

Impact100 Philadelphia’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Committee was formed in 2019. In July 2020, Jvawnna Bell joined Impact’s board as the Director of Strategic Initiatives, particularly focused on DEI.

Our DEI Resource Guide is updated periodically, most recently in March 2021 in connection with this statement on AAPI Solidarity.

In response to the murder of George Floyd and the systemic inequities in our country, Impact100 Philadelphia released this statement on racial justice in June. We appreciate the members and community members who wrote to us in response to the statement.

As one of our members on the DEI Committee wrote:

If there is any advice I can offer in moving forward, it is to dig deep and do the hard work of identifying and confronting the root causes of the issues we face as an organization, philanthropy, and women of a certain socio-economic level in Philadelphia.

It will be hard work and it should be hard work. It will be emotionally taxing and the early rewards may not seem to come, but it is more than worth it to endure this exercise and create a truly inclusive and equitable organization.

Impact100 Philadelphia pledges to do the hard work of looking inward, listening to all those our organization touches, and seeking to become a “truly inclusive and equitable organization.” We will communicate regularly about this work on our website and in newsletters.
