Kensington Soccer Club (KSC) unites the broader Kensington community with soccer and youth development programs for all, regardless of ability to pay.

Since offering its first program in 2010, KSC now provides after-school programs, summer camps, and soccer leagues for hundreds of children including those from underserved neighborhoods. Through sport and structure, children gain consistency, mentorship, and a sense of belonging. Beyond soccer, KSC’s S.A.V.E. (Student Athletes Value Education) program ensures children have access to books, engaging them in literacy and lifelong learning. With leadership, training, and opportunities to participate in travel teams, camps, and enrichment events, KSC supports youth in building confidence, character, teamwork, and long-term potential.

In the past six months, KSC has served over 1500 children across after-school, junior programs, competitive teams, camps, rec centers, and school sites. Nearly 20 dedicated volunteers have supported registrations, referring, book distributions, mentoring, and program execution, underscoring community investment and shared ownership. KSC has raised over $12,000 from fundraisers, $30,000 through registrations, and received a $5,000 grant for the Girls Program. In addition, KSC has doubled participation in its Safe 8s league; travel teams have been active in regional leagues; junior programs expanded to three sites, with additional sites planned for the spring; and provided employment and mentorship for nearly 30 teenagers. KSC has also focused on building and strengthening partnerships with other local organizations, including Impact100 2024 grantee Tree House Books.

What’s next for KSC? Expansion of the junior and after-school programs, adding more sites, and reaching more youth in need as well as growing volunteer recruitment, staff capacity, and leadership training. At the core of community, youth opportunity and empowerment, KSC is transforming lives both on and off the field.
