Membership outreach and engagement has continued through the winter months. Tamara Banko and Rachel Levin, Impact100 Philadelphia Membership Co-Chairs, were delighted to plant membership seeds for the future and host a recruitment event for new and prospective members at Kismet Cowork in Chestnut Hill in February. This event reflects our conviction that the benefits of Impact100 Philadelphia membership exist throughout the year: there is no deadline to join. They also delivered that message to Bala Cynwyd’s Trail’s End Cafe, where they introduced our organization to women at a Community Charity Chat event in March. Unfortunately, snowy weather forced postponement of our early spring Happy Hour at Whetstone Tavern, but we will reschedule shortly.

A tie that binds all Impact100 Philadelphia members is the desire to serve our community. We did just that when two groups of volunteers visited Aid for Friends in Northeast Philadelphia. Our members chopped and diced, stirred and strained, simmered and sauteed and produced 201 portions of beef stew, 126 containers of chicken vegetable stir fry, 360 chocolate chip cookies and 26 portions of vanilla, chocolate and butterscotch pudding.  Aid for Friends distributes these meals to frail and elderly clients throughout the Philadelphia area. Both days of “Cooking for a Cause” were fun and extremely productive. It is very clear that Impact100 Philadelphia does well when we do good. If you have ideas about a membership engagement event, or if you would like to plan one, please email [email protected].

Next month, we are happy to partner with Cradles to Crayons to provide new and gently used supplies to area children. Clean out your drawers and closets for spring and help local children with other Impact100 Philadelphia members. There are two volunteer opportunities: Tuesday evening, May 15th and Wednesday morning, May 23rd. To register, CLICK HERE.

We are committed to providing an excellent experience for our members throughout the year. You are our most important ambassadors. Please invite a friend to one of our volunteer or educational events, or contact our committee to tell us about a prospective member or volunteer to participate. The work we do in our community and within our organization is sure to lead to a strong and successful future for our members and the nonprofits we serve.
